This year's parade highlights include Galway Arts Centre, Colours Street Theatre, An Taibhdhearc Theatre and Galway Theatre Festival with community groups such as Foróige, GAA clubs, Amnesty International and The Russian Culture Club creating a kaleidoscope of of Galway's rich mix of cultural and ethnic diversity. The parade festivites include a free concert for patrons of all ages. The parade begins at 11.30pm and will last about an hour and a half.

A Good Food Ireland event, touRRoir 2018 will be hosted at NUI Galway to coincide with Galway’s designation as European region of gastronomy. The touRRoir will bring together ‘thought leaders’, experienced practitioners and ‘change agents’ for a cross-sector dialogue on how – through the inextricable link of food, tourism. The Forster Court Hotel is located just 1.3 km for the NUIG, with direct Bus links outside the door of the hotel but boasts a perfect city centre location to allow you to explore all that this medieval city has to offer.

Santa is coming to Galway City on the 16th November to officially Light up Galway City.  This year Santa will parade through the streets of Galway on the Santa Express Train, turning on hte lights as he goes.  He will finish up with a trip to Galway’s East Village,where he will turn on the final lights of the city and the Christmas market live from the stage at the main entrance to the Eyre Square Shopping Centre.
